Malibu Oceanography Adventure
Come explore the wonders of our diverse coastal ecosystem including tide pools, estuaries, riparian ecology, oceans and marine science. Classes include fish dissection, underwater breathing, water testing for ammonia + nitrates, botany & microscopes, wild edibles, plant i.d. and more. This exciting program can be combined with High Ropes Course, Animal Shows, Primitive Skills Village, with all the traditional camp and bonding elements. A personal favorite the Malibu Oceanography Adventure is well suited for such sites as Hess Kramer, Gindling Hilltop, El Capitan Canyon and more.
For outdoor education on the top of a mountain, Hilltop is an ideal spot with scenic views of Malibu and, when the weather is clear, the Channel Islands. Both the Hilltop site and its sister camp, Hess Kramer, feature contemporary cabins and lodging, full dining hall food service, an outdoor amphitheater, recreational field, high ropes adventure courses, and access to the ocean for tide pool and beach exploration. One advantage to the Hilltop is its intimate setting, which makes team building and all-group games perfect for groups of 150 people or less.
Camp Hess Kramer sits between the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Monica mountains, which provides easy access to the beach and tide pools, while also allowing for riparian creek exploration in woodland areas. The camps in Malibu feature full dining hall food service, outdoor amphitheaters, recreational fields, high ropes adventure courses, and a climbing wall. It is a great place for outdoor trips and science exploration.
One highlight of Camp Hess Kramer is its 28 upscale cabins, each with its own private contemporary bathroom. With more than 120 acres, this camp can hold up to 350 people.
